Swing Care Fibromyalgia Services Now Covered by Insurance

By Nicole Villeneuve

Published March 3, 2023

At Swing Care, we believe that everyone should have access to personalized, holistic fibromyalgia treatment. Today, we’re taking another major step toward that goal by joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and Medicare’s network of providers.

Medicare Part B and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas health plan members can now receive Swing Care services in-network through their insurance plans. That means over 10M people will be able to access our treatments—appointments with fibromyalgia specialists, medication management, and non-drug approaches to care—more affordably.

“Fibromyalgia doesn’t have a home within the traditional medical system,” said Dr. Andrea Chadwick, Medical Director of Swing Care. “People with fibromyalgia deserve a dedicated team of providers that specializes in treating their condition. We’re proud to work with Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to remove barriers to accessing that level of care.”

Swing Care launched in 2022 to provide comprehensive care and evidence-based treatments for fibromyalgia, a chronic, widespread pain condition that affects 2-6% of the U.S. population. Swing Care’s providers are currently available to patients in Texas, with plans to expand to additional states throughout 2023.

Swing Care offers in-depth consultations and medication management, in addition to novel therapies like Stanza, a fibrotherapy mobile app. In clinical trials, 9 out of 10 patients prefer Stanza to medications alone. Stanza is being made available under the FDA’s Enforcement Policy during the COVID-19 public health emergency and is currently undergoing clinical trials.
